WINNING THE MARATHON, NOT THE SPRINT.

Tonight, the Port of L.A. Girls' Basketball Team played their first game vs. New Millennium High School at Victoria Park in Carson, Ca. This was to be the first time the Lady Polar Bears would have a chance to put everything together what we have learned in practice. The Lady Bears came out a little tense and nervous to start the first quarter but just enough time to shake off the jitters to make it a competitive game. For much of the game, we were neck to neck until some unfortunate turnovers and key plays from the other team. I was very impressed with how the team responded as a whole and took the challenge head first. I see the potential we can have as a team, and I am confident, by the time league starts, this team will be top 3. The league is a marathon, and not a sprint. Winning the marathon to me is what counts, and I can do with losing a sprint or two. Come support and watch our next game at Peck Park vs. Lennox Academy on 11/29/2010@3:30pm.
