Our Goal? CROSSTOWN LEAGUE CHAMPS!

The past 3 weeks, the team has been involved in tournament after tournament. We have been getting better with each game and we have steadily been keeping our eyes on the prize. As a team, we have positive strides with all the work and tournament games we have been playing. We are starting to find our chemistry and everyone has started to buy into what we are trying to accomplish as a team. In the first tournament at St. Anthony's in Long Beach, Ca. was our first indicator where we were at as a team. We took some heavy hits in some of the games, however made a great push to win 1 game in the tournament finishing 7th out of 8 teams in that tournament. Ten'e Stewart received All Tournament Team recognition and has been a catalyst for this team from the start.

Going into our next tournament at Animo Venice Charter High School, we played highly competitive teams especially one Compton High School team that was anchored by two power forwards above 6 feet. The girls played two excellent games against Compton High School one being in the championship game where we took 2nd place, the first time in school history.

We finish off our tournament play at Orangewood Academy in Garden Grove, Ca. Saturday 18th at 5:30pm against Vaughn High School from San Fernando Valley, Ca. We look forward to a great game and hope to take home the honors of 5th place from that tournament.

Our goal? Crosstown League Champs! This is the first time Port of L.A. High School will have the chance to play for league champs, City Champs, and enter into the CIF State Tournament under DIV V- Small Schools Section. Why not us?!? I always the girls... Why not us!!! I am quiet confident this team will be league champs. Come and and be a witness. Come and be a part of history.
